No. Every quote lists the CNIPA official fee and our service fee separately. If official fees change, we show the new amount before you pay.

The preliminary search is free, and if it reveals a clear conflict and you decide not to file, you pay nothing. The Registered or Refunded plan ($499 per class) is offered for word marks and carries a full refund: we refund 100% of what you paid, the $39 CNIPA official fee included, where CNIPA finally refuses the application in whole on relative grounds (the mark sits too close to an earlier mark), the decision is issued within 15 months of the filing date, you have cooperated with any notice that needed your input, kept the mark and the goods list as filed, have not withdrawn, and claim within 30 days of the final refusal notice. The refund goes back to the account you paid from, in US dollars; the bank charges on that transfer are borne by you. Refunds are not available where: (1) the same applicant files the same mark again in the same class after it has already been refused, with no change to the mark; (2) the mark is identical to a mark that a third party has already registered, or has had preliminarily approved, for the same or similar goods or services; (3) the application is only partly refused and part of the goods or services is granted; (4) the mark is a figurative or logo mark; (5) a word mark is refused on absolute grounds, for example because it is descriptive, lacks distinctive character, is generic or is deceptive; (6) the official examination result is issued more than 15 months after the filing date. Essential ($199) and Standard ($299) do not include a refund.

Chinese examination works differently from the office-action procedure many applicants know from the US or the EU. A correction notice asks for a document, a signature or a fix to the goods list — not an argument — and we handle those for you on every plan at no extra cost. A refusal is a decision, not a question: CNIPA does not normally invite you to argue the mark first. If the application is refused, the route is a re-examination filed within 15 days of the refusal notice; it is a separate proceeding, quoted before we start, and whether to file it is your call. Standard and Registered or Refunded include a written assessment of whether a re-examination is worth filing.

We offer the money-back guarantee for word marks, and only when our own search of CNIPA's records shows the mark is clear enough to file with confidence. If the search turns up a risk, we explain it and recommend changes to the mark, the classes or the goods list. If you prefer to file as it stands, we file it on the Essential or Standard plan, neither of which carries the guarantee. Figurative marks are filed on the Essential or Standard plan.

For 12 months after your mark registers we watch CNIPA's records for later applications that sit close to your mark in your class, and email you when we find one, with a plain-English note on your options. It is an alert service rather than legal action: any opposition, takedown or other enforcement work is quoted separately and only started if you ask us to.

All prices are invoiced in US dollars. You receive a proforma invoice before any payment, and the payment instructions are included with that invoice.

That is the real CNIPA e-filing fee for one class of up to 10 goods or services (270 RMB). We quote it exactly. Your total price is official fees plus our service fee, nothing else.

Yes. If you filed the same mark in a Paris Convention country first, we can declare priority in your Chinese applications, which moves your effective filing date back to that earlier application for up to six months. It is quoted separately at $699 per document where the earlier application is one number covering several classes, and $599 per document where each class was filed separately, official fees included. You send us the application number and we handle the rest.
